FORMULA 3 2010 - Il Campionato Italiano | The Italian Championship - page 7

prima metà degli Anni’50 alla
Formula Junior italiana ad oggi,
il cammino della categoria è sta-
to costante: si è evoluto nel cor-
so del tempo, si è adeguato alle
esigenze di telai, aerodinamica,
motore e gomme, si è posto nel
contemporaneo sempre come
pietra di paragone. All’interno di
questo contenitore chiamato For-
mula 3, l’Italia ha svolto un ruolo
chiave e fondamentale, creando
nuove generazioni di piloti, san-
cendo il successo internaziona-
le di aziende, forgiando giovani
tecnici che alla pari di chi guida
hanno poi scalato le vette del-
le varie specialità. Qualità ben
note a Salvatore Tarantino, al
quale probabilmente non basta-
va l’apprezzato lavoro nell’am-
biente del campionato italiano.
Con questo libro l’autore si è
spinto oltre. Lo ha fatto non solo
per raccontare una splendida
stagione decisa negli ultimi me-
tri dell’appuntamento finale ma
anche e soprattutto per amore.
Ha viaggiato nel tempo riportan-
do alla luce memorie passate, ri-
cercando dati, cifre, nomi, cam-
biamenti regolamentari, legando
con un immaginario “fil rouge” le
varie epoche della Formula 3 a
quella di oggi, scavando nella
storia e nell’attualità. Un lavoro
faticoso e importante che merita
gratitudine da parte di chi ama
la categoria e utilissimo per colo-
ro che della Formula 3 conosco-
no l’ovvietà ma non sanno che
senza di essa l’automobilismo
sarebbe ben diverso, di certo
non migliore.

500 in the first half of 50s to
the Italian Formula Junior and
nowadays the way of the cate-
gory has been consistent: it has
evolved over time, has adapted
to the needs of chassis, aerody-
namics, engine and tires, has
always placed in the contempo-
rary as a touchstone. Within this
case called Formula 3, Italy has
played a key and fundamental
role, creating new generations
of drivers, ratifying the interna-
tional success of companies, for-
ging young engineers who, like
the drivers, have climbed then
the heights of the various spe-
cialties. Qualities well known to
Salvatore Tarantino, for whom
it was probably not enough his
appreciated task in the Italian
Championship. With this book
the author went further. He did it
not only to tell a wonderful sea-
son, decided in the last meters
of final appointment, but also for
love. He travelled through time
bringing to light past memories,
searching for facts, figures, na-
mes, changes in regulations,
binding with an imaginary “file
rouge” the various ages of For-
mula 3 to that one of today, dig-
ging in the history and actuality.
A difficult and important work
that deserves gratitude from
those who love the category and
very useful for those who know
the obviousness of the Formula
3, but do not know that without
it the motor sport would be very
different, certainly not better.
