dere a Buttarelli. Il ritmo del giovane
statunitense non sembra irresistibile
ed alla tornata seguente deve cede-
re a Ramos per poi difendersi a den-
ti stretti dagli attacchi di Caldarelli e
di un gruppo indiavolato. A districarsi
meglio di tutti è Zanella che al decimo
giro riesce a portarsi nell’ambitissima
quinta posizione, mentre poco dopo,
grazie al gioco delle scie ed ai cam-
bi di traiettoria, Mancinelli rinviene ai
danni sia di Caldarelli che di Chaves
portandosi così al sesto posto. Nel fina-
le il quartetto di testa chiude a stretto
contatto, mentre Caldarelli riesce final-
mente a spuntarla su Chaves che sul
traguardo si difende guidando una fila
compatta di ben 10 monoposto.
VIVA L’ITALIA
Al Mugello, dal podio di gara 1, han-
no sventolato solo bandiere tricolori. In
1 a Monza.
nella who earns fifth place in 10th lap,
while a little later, thanks to the play of
wakes and changes of trajectory, Man-
cinelli come up against both Chaves
and Caldarelli bringing in sixth place.
In the final laps, the top four ends in
close proximity, while Caldarelli is fi-
nally able to overtake Chaves who on
the finish line dull the finish on Chaves
who defends himself leading a com-

pact row of as many as 10 cars.
HURRAY FOR ITALY
Only Italians flags waved in Mugello
during the podium of race 1. In an Ita-
lian Championship, usually, it should be
a fact entirely devoid of note, but now
it has some value because it was the
first time in this season. And in the pre-
vious two, on the total of the eight races
held so far, even a single Italian flag
didn’t waved. From now until the end
of the season, three Italian flags will
be together up on the podium only for
Vallelunga Race 2 and Monza Race 1.
TOUGH NUT TO CRACK
Noting the progress in race 2 it turns
out the role played by Chaves. From
the third position in the first round, that
number “17” slips to eighth place. But
before to get there, the young driver
of Colombian origin, clearly in crisis of
grip, has made life difficult for all of his
opponents who were following behind.
For them a real test of character. For
Chaves, a new demonstration of a cry-
stalline talent.
THE KING OF MUGELLO
In Mugello it applies the law of Cal-
darelli. When he was only 15 years, in
2005, won in Formula Azzurra race en-
tering in the history of Italian motorsport
as the youngest driver to have scored a
victory in an Italian Championship race.
This year he has confirmed his particu-
lar predilection for one of the most te-
chnical circuits in the international sce-
ne. He made his the pole position and
the victory in race one topped with the
fastest lap. Exactly like it will happen
in a few months during the seventh and
penultimate round of Championship
always on the Tuscan track.
OSSO DURO
Osservando l’andamento di gara 2
si scopre il ruolo rivestito da Chaves.
Dalla terza posizione al primo giro,
quel numero “17” scivola fino all’ottavo
posto. Ma prima di arrivarci il giova-
nissimo pilota di origine colombiana, in
evidente crisi di aderenza, ha reso la
vita difficile a tutti i suoi avversari che
seguivano alle spalle. Per loro un au-
tentico banco di prova caratteriale. Per
Chaves la dimostrazione di un talento
cristallino.
IL RE DEL MUGELLO
Al Mugello vige la legge di Caldarelli.
A soli 15 anni, nel 2005, si impose in
Formula Azzurra entrando nella storia
dell’automobilismo tricolore come il pi-
lota più giovane ad essersi assicurato
una gara di Campionato Italiano. Que-
st’anno ha confermato la particolare
predilezione per uno dei circuiti più
tecnici in campo internazionale. Sua
la pole position e la vittoria di gara 1
condita con il giro più veloce. Esatta-
mente come accadrà di qui a qualche
mese in occasione del settimo e penulti-
mo round di campionato di scena sem-
pre sul tracciato toscano.
